As per New York Post, the bystanders made multiple calls to 911, which is the emergency number for USA, after an unconscious man was found lying on the ground in front of the West 15th Street, opposite the 15-story Art Deco building. Soon after, the police rushed to the spot and took to him the Bellevue Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The investigators have discovered handprints on the ledge of a 14th-floor open-air terrace, which has made them believe that the man in question may have jumped from there. However, no suicide note or video of the incident has been found from the incident site yet.

Several months prior to this incident, another Google employee named Jacob Pratt was discovered dead, apparently by suicide. Pratt was a 33-year-old software engineer who worked at the Manhattan headquarters of the company. He was found hanging in an apartment situated at the intersection of West 26th Street and 6th Avenue in Chelsea on February 16.

Based on information found on Jacob Pratt’s LinkedIn profile, he held the position of “partnership lead” at Google, although some sources, including his obituary, referred to him as an “accounting manager” at the company, where he worked for almost four years. Pratt resided in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, and unfortunately passed away unexpectedly on February 16th, as reported in an obituary published by the Lansing State Journal. The 33-year-old had obtained a degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, as stated in the same obituary. The reason behind his suicide was not known.
