Dasun Shanaka says it was crucial to get the two points. Adds the wicket was not easy to bat but Nissanka and Asalanka batted really well. Informs they were looking for a score of 280. Richie Berrington says they utilized the early ball movement and started well but the middle phase didn’t go their way. However, they were happy to keep Sri Lanka near 250. On Greaves, he says the situation demanded for him to come so late in the game with the ball. Reckons it was just not their day, they have batted well throughout the tournament.
Maheesh Theekshana is the Player of the Match. He says the pitch was a bit sloppy and he was just trying to bowl in good areas. Adds it is his strength to bowl with the new ball and he enjoys doing it. Reckons it was crucial to get some runs with the bat as well.
Scotland were in the game at the break. They did well to keep the Lankans below 250. Apart from Pathum Nissanka and Charith Asalanka there was no major contribution from the Lankan batters but they were definitely in the game knowing they had some mystery spinners. On the other side, One big stand would have certainly helped Scotland to take this game deep but in the end, it was just Chris Greaves who with his fifty, batted a lone battle with not much support.
That was quick work from Sri Lanka. Apart from that one stand between Chris Greaves and Chris Sole, it was all Sri Lanka right from the start. The mystery of Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga was too hot to handle. The Scotland batters came in, missed out and went back one after the other. Maheesh Theekshana though was the main architect of this downfall. The Lankan bowlers continue to flourish with the ball in this tournament.

Sri Lanka will be slightly disappointed. This is a competitive target but would have hopes for more as their batters were in-form. There were losing wickets regularly. Pathum Nissanka handled one end quite well but was looking for support. When Charith Asalanka joined him in the middle, Sri Lanka were all set for a score around 280 but they lost wickets in leaps and the lower order failed to contribute. Now then! This is still a good score. Sri Lanka can defend this knowing their bowlers have been brilliant. Will Wanindu Hasaranga step up again? We will find out after the break.
A really good bowling performance by Scotland. They will be very happy with this score. There were moments when Scotland were off the target but they did well to take wickets at regular intervals. The seamers controlled it for a long time but once the ball started to grip and stayed low, Greaves and Watt were unstoppable. The former took four wickets while the latter ended with three.
