Notably, WhatsApp has turned off sharing status on Facebook by default, but users can be enabled or disabled at any time by changing app settings.

Notably, the ‘automatically share status on Facebook’ update is currently rolling out globally and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks. Once available users can enable ‘automatically Facebook’ sharing of WhatsApp status by following these steps:

– Share a media on WhatsApp story.

– Once the story is shared, you will see a set-up option to enable share status to Facebook story

-Tap on Set-up.

– Follow the instructions.

– Once enabled all your WhatsApp statuses will be automatically shared on Facebook too.

– You can also disable Facebook sharing following the same process anytime.

WhatsApp has also assured its users that their shared Status will be protected by end-to-end encryption and users can choose who can view their Status. In case users opt to share their status with Facebook, only the minimum data necessary is shared. All their personal messages will remain protected by end-to-end encryption and contacts and phone numbers will not be shared on Facebook.

In other news, WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new feature that will allow users to send animated emojis. According to WAbeta.info, a site that tracks developments on WhatsApp, the new emoji feature is currently under development and has been included in the most recent desktop beta.

This will bring WhatsApp in line with other messaging apps like Telegram and Slack that already offer animated emojis for a richer conversation experience. Reports suggest that the feature will also be introduced in future updates of WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS. This adds to the app’s existing options for sharing stickers, GIFs, and standard static emojis.
