By India Today Business DeskIndia’s Adani Airport Holdings Limited, a part of billionaire Gautam Adani’s conglomerate Adani Group, will bid for more airports in the country, said its CEO Arun Bansal.

This is part of the group’s ambition to become the leading operator in India and the world.

“We want to be the leading airport operator in India and the world,” he said.

Adani Airports won bids to operate six airports in the last round of airport privatisation and it plans to bid for more in the future.

“Ambition is to do more, and will bid for more airports,” Bansal added.

The government is expected to float bids for privatising a dozen more airports over the next few years.

Arun Bansal was optimistic about the group’s airports business and said, “The cost of operating airports should go down by 30-50 per cent if we know what we are doing.”
