Toyota sold 19,379 units in the domestic market and exported 1,031 units in May.
By India Today Auto DeskToyota Kirloskar Motor today announced that it recorded its highest-ever cumulative volumes during a month at 20,410 units in May 2023, witnessing a jump of 99.78% over the same month last year, when 10,216 units were sold.
The carmaker sold 19,379 units in the domestic market and exported 1,031 units of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder last month.
Toyota commenced a third shift at its Bidadi plant (Karnataka) last month. The move is expected to reduce the waiting period on Toyota cars.
The Bidadi plant has a total installed production capacity of 310,000 units.
During January-May 2023, the carmaker’s cumulative volumes have grown 41.46% at 82,763 units from 58,505 units in the year-ago period.
Toyota sells models like Glanza, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, Hilux, Fortuner, Legender, Camry and Vellfire in India.
