MI put themselves in a dominant position after chasing down 201 against SunRisers Hyderabad in just 18 overs.

Cameron Green hit his maiden IPL hundred in 47 balls as he played a stellar role in their must-win match. It was a terrific knock from the 23-year-old, who was under pressure due to the high price tag, when the stakes were high as the Wankhede Stadium crowd roared in delight when he completed the landmark while also hitting the winning runs.

MI vs SRH, IPl 2023 Highlights

Mumbai Indians needed nothing less than a victory to stay alive in the playoffs race of IPL 2023. MI had a poured Net Run Rate than Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals who also were 14 points ahead of the final league matchday.

However, Mumbai Indians broke free of the 3-way tie at 14 points to leapfrog Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals to the 4th spot in the IPL 2023 points table.

However, Mumbai Indians’ spot in the playoffs is not assured yet. If Royal Challengers Bangalore win their final league game of the season against defending champions Gujarat Titans in Bengaluru. However, there is uncertainty over the last league game as it’s been raining steadily in Bengaluru on Sunday since afternoon.

Rajasthan Royals, meanwhile, were eliminated from the playoffs race as they finished with 14 points.

Mumbai Indians successfully recovered from their 5-run defeat to Lucknow Super Giants on May 16. The 5-time champions were under pressure but they delivered when it mattered the most on Sunday.

GREEN, ROHIT SHINE

Cameron Green became the 6th Mumbai Indians batter to hit an IPL century and the third overseas player to do so for the 5-time champions. Green also became the 4th youngest overseas player to hit an IPL hundred.

It was a stunning knock from the youngster who hit fifty in just 20 balls, signaling his intent from the word go. Rohit and Ishan Kishan set the tone for the chase with a brisk approach at the start. Ishan Kishan got out for 14 off 12 balls as Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck early.

However, Green took the pressure off Rohit Sharma who was 15 off 15, struggling to get going. Green tore into the new-ball attack of SunRisers Hyderabad and showcased his range against spinners.

Green never took the foot off the pedal as he slammed 8 sixes and as many boundaries.

Green stitched a 128-run stand with captain Rohit Sharma in just 62 balls. It was a terrific approach from the youngster as he allowed his captain to settle into the game.

Captain Rohit did not disappoint as he 56 off 37 balls. Rohit grew into the knock, hitting 8 boundaries and a six as they eased to the target.

Suryakumar Yadav got some game time and he did his thing, hitting 25 off just 16 balls.

MAYANK, VIVRANT EFFORTS IN VAIN

Earlier in the day, Mayank Agarwal and 23-year-old Vivrant Sharma hit a 140-run partnership for SunRisers Hyderabad, who reserved arguably their best top-order batting show for the last.

Mayank was more relieved than happy when he hit his maiden fifty of the IPL 2023 season as he was under immense pressure after having failed to deliver for his new side.

On the other hand, Vivrant Sharma’s 69 was the highest score for an uncapped player in his debut innings in the IPL.
