SpiceJet has announced a hike in the salary of its flight captains to Rs 7.5 lakh per month. The airline said the revised salary would be applicable from May 16, 2023.
By India Today Business DeskSpiceJet on Tuesday announced a substantial hike in the salary of flight captains. The airline, in its announcement, also reduced the monthly flying hours requirement. According to the airline, the salary of its captains has been hiked to Rs 7.5 lakh per month, for 75 hours of flying.
The announcement was made on the occasion of the airline’s 18th anniversary and the salary revision will be applicable from May 16, 2023.
In addition, the airline has also announced a tenure-linked monthly loyalty reward for its captains of up to Rs 1 lakh per month.
According to media reports, the salaries of flight trainers and first officers have also been increased.
SpiceJet operates about 250 daily flights to 48 destinations within India and across the world.
Its fleet is a mix of aircraft including Boeing 737 Max, Boeing 700 and Q400s.
