While Shardul wore Deepak’s Super Kings jersey, Chahar donned Thakur’s Knight Riders outfit. Posting a video on his Instagram handle, CSK wrote, “Cherry x Dhool. Just like old times. #CSKvKKR #WhistlePodu #Yellove. The two pacers can be seen shaking hands and exchanging jerseys at the end of the game, with Shardul saying, “it is good to be back in CSK jersey.” In the video, Shardul can be also heard telling Deepak that jersey seedha nikalna tha na.

After winning the toss and batting first, CSK could only manage 144 for six. At the Chepauk, Shivam Dube top-scored with an unbeaten 48 off 34 balls, while KKR spinners Sunil Narine (2/15) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/36) each took two wickets. KKR faced some early hiccups while chasing 145 before reaching the target in 18.3 overs, with Rinku Singh and skipper Nitish Rana making 54 and unbeaten 57, respectively.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings, led by talisman Mahendra Singh Dhoni, did a special lap of honour around Chepauk after their Indian Premier League match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. Even as the crowd erupted at seeing their favourite player lead their team out of the stadium after the game, batting legend Sunil Gavaskar approached the two-time World Cup winner for an autograph.

Dhoni, who was most likely playing in his final IPL, was seen hitting some balls into the crowd before tossing a few jerseys in that direction while holding a racquet in one hand. The police officers at the event also had their moments, shaking hands with Dhoni and getting his autographs. The game, however, did not go as planned for CSK, as they were defeated by six wickets.
