Scorpio-N, XUV700, Thar drive orders for Mahindra | 292,000 open bookings till May 1

By India Today Auto DeskMahindra & Mahindra has announced that it had almost 292,000 open bookings as on May 1, 2023. The highest pending orders were for the Scorpio-N, including the Scorpio Classic, the XUV700 and the Thar.

While the Scorpio brand had 117,000 open bookings at the beginning of this month, it was 78,000 for the XUV700, 58,000 for the Thar, 29,000 for the XUV300 and XUV400, and 8,200 for the Bolero and Bolero Neo, the company said in a regulatory filing on May 26.

The average monthly bookings for the Scorpio brand and Thar stand at nearly 14,000 from February to April and 8,000 for the XUV700. The Bolero brand and the XUV300 and XUV400 have been garnering nearly 10,000 orders on average over the past three months.

Besides, Mahindra is receiving as many as 57,000 fresh bookings per month. The company’s per-month billing is close to 33,000, while the cancellations are less than 8% per month.

Recently, Mahindra announced that it will launch the Thar 5-door in India in the calendar year (CY) 2024.

Several reports had claimed that the Mahindra Thar 5-door might be introduced in the country in CY23.
