“What a fantastic final to watch! Excellent tennis by both these athletes! We’re witnessing the rise of the next superstar of tennis. I’ll be following Carlos’ career for the next 10-12 years just like I did with @Rogerfederer. Many congratulations @carlosalcaraz!,” Tendukar posted on Twitter.

At the age of 20, Alcaraz became the youngest player to win the US Open and Wimbledon. The Spaniard displayed remarkable resilience and skill, overcoming a set deficit to beat the 7-time champion. This victory marked his first Wimbledon championship and his second major overall.

Alcaraz’s performance was particularly notable for his effective use of his first serve, especially during the crucial final service game. The match was a generational battle, with Alcaraz becoming the third youngest man to triumph at Wimbledon, only behind legends like Boris Becker (17 years old in 1985) and Bjorn Borg (20 years old in 1976).

Alcaraz also became the first player in over 10 years to defeat Djokovic at Centre Court, with his previous defeat coming against Andy Murray in 2013.

In fact, Alcaraz became the first man other than Roger Federer, Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray to win Wimbledon since 2002. This win means the Spaniard will also retain his world number 1 spot. Incredibly, the 20-year-old has won two Grand Slam titles, having only participated in 10 in his career.
