The official Instagram handle of Vogue Arabia shared photos of Rekha today, posing on the cover of the magazine featuring resplendent Manish Malhotra’s archival ensembles.

The first look showed the evergreen icon in a black turtleneck top layered with an opulent vintage brocade jacket embellished with golden embroidery, sequin work and intricate threadwork. The loose jacket exuded elegance and eminence teamed with Mughal-inspired headgear embroidered with gold zari.

She completed the look with her signature bold lips, bold eyes and a heavy necklace with stud earrings.

The second look showed Rekha wearing a timeless golden saree with multiple layered diamond necklaces, bangles, earrings and statement rings. She wore the bespoke Maharaja necklace by Van Cleef and Arpels, a one-of-a-kind 161.62-carat piece that took 5,000 hours to make.

Rekha wore her handmade saree to accompany the luxurious jewels, also created by Manish Malhotra. Talking about collaborating with the actress, the designer told the magazine, “The pure love she has for fabrics, embroideries and colour, a passion that we both share deeply, it’s been extraordinarily inspiring. We have a mutual admiration for each other, which is one of the reasons we make such a good team.”

In the third look, shared on Instagram, Rekha wore a gorgeous Muslin Angarkha anarkali with ivory churidar with juttis. She featured a dramatic and intricate matha patti with matching heavy gold and kundan necklaces with floral earrings.

Talking about her career to the magazine, Rekha said, “Whether I make films or not, it never leaves me. I have my memories to relive what I love. And when the time is right, the right project will find me.”
