Thereafter, the Knights bowled the Challengers out for 82 in 15.1 overs. Barring Praveen Kumar, who stayed not out on 18 off 15, none of the RCB batters got into double digits. Ajit Agarkar was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-0-25-3.

Even as Ashok Dinda and Sourav Ganguly got one scalp apiece, Ishant Sharma and Laxmi Ratan Shukla got one wicket each.

Here are some of the unbroken records from the historic match between RCB and KKR in IPL 2008

140 – The victory by 140 runs remains to be KKR’s biggest victory in the history of the IPL. It is also the third-biggest win in IPL after MI’s 146-run win over Delhi Daredevils (2017) and RCB’s 144-run win over Gujarat Lions (2017).

158* – Brendon McCullum’s 158 not out remains the highest score by a KKR batter in the history of the IPL. In fact, until April 16, he was the only KKR batter to have scored an IPL hundred. Venkatesh Iyer became the second batter after he got a century against MI on Sunday at Wankhede Stadium.

140 runs – The 140-run defeat remains as RCB’s biggest in the history of the IPL. It is also one of the three times when RCB lost an IPL match by a margin of over 100 runs.

13 – During his knock of 153 not out, Brendon McCullum hit 13 sixes in his knock. No other KKR batter has been able to break that record. Back in 2018, Andre Russell hit 11 sixes against the Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

McCullum’s tally of 13 sixes is also the joint second-most in an IPL innings. Back in 2012, Chris Gayle hit 13 sixes against the Delhi Daredevils at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Gayle also holds the record of most sixes in an IPL innings (17).

82- RCB’s score of 82 is their lowest at home (M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore). It also happens to be RCB’s fifth-lowest score in the IPL after 49 (vs KKR in 2017), 68 (vs SRH in 2022), 70 (vs CSK in 2019), 70 (vs RR in 2014).
