Poco F5 5G set to launch in India soon, company confirms key feature

He did confirm a key feature of the upcoming Poco phone. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset, which no other phone in the market has and the Poco F5 will be the first one to use it.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 was announced in March this year and is aimed at mid-range devices. It is a toned version of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which is something that the specifications of the chip suggest. Poco India’s head is claiming that users will get a powerful performance with the Poco F5, which is something that is yet to be tested and we will only be able to comment on it after we review it.

To recall, the Poco F4 5G was announced in India last year with a powerful Snapdragon 870 chipset. The same chip was offered by a few phones like OnePlus 9R under Rs 40,000. Both Poco and iQOO launched new 5G phones with this SoC under Rs 30,000 for those who want performance-oriented devices. The Poco F4 was made available in the country with a starting price of Rs 27,999 and the new Poco F5 is expected to be priced in a similar range.

The company is expected to reveal more features in the coming days as we near the launch event. Lets take a quick look at the specifications that the leaks have suggested so far for the Poco F5 smartphone.

The Poco F5 is said to come with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, which will operate at FHD+ resolution. The display will likely refresh at 120Hz, just like its predecessor. You can expect the handset to ship with the latest Android 13 OS out of the box.

At the back, we could see a triple-camera setup. It is said to include a 64-megapixel camera, an 8-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel camera. The setup is seemingly the same as the Poco F4. But, the front will have a different sensor. It could use a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The device could retain support for 67W fast charging tech. The leaks claim that the 5G phone could feature a typical 5,000mAh battery, which will be an upgrade over the 4,500mAh battery unit.
