By Ankita GargOppo has finally unveiled its latest generation Reno 10 series in India and the Pro+ variant is the most premium among the new set of 5G phones. The Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ is priced at Rs 54,999 and it misses out on a few things that high-end flagship phones offer. Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ quick reviewDesign, performance, and specs

The new Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ features a premium design with a glass back panel and a curved screen. You get a massive 6.7-inch OLED 1.5K display with a typical 120Hz refresh rate. The panel looks pretty vibrant with good colour contrast. It looks magnificent and the content was pretty enjoyable on this one during my brief time period with it. I liked the fact that phones nowadays have close to zero bezels, giving more screen space to users and a better user experience. The device has a USB Type-C port and an IR blaster.

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship-grade Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. However, this is not a new chip and the phones in its range are using the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood. Though, the new Oppo phone didn’t slow down during my brief time period with it.

It features a 4,700mAh battery and the company bundles a 100W fast charger in the box. I must say the high-watt charger helped quickly top up the phone battery whenever I wanted to head out for some urgent work. This is a big relief, although not a new thing as many Android phones in the market now offer fast charging support. I’m happy to see that the company hasn’t removed the charger from the retail box, unlike Samsung, Google, and Apple. Consumers won’t be required to spend extra to buy a charger for the Oppo Reno 10 Pro+. The company claims that the bundled 100W charger can provide 50 percent charge in 9 minutes and 100 percent in 27 minutes. This claim, we are yet to test and will cover this in our detailed review.

Cameras are one of its key selling points. There is a 64-megapixel telephoto camera at the back, which the company says is the industry’s highest megapixel count for telephoto portrait cameras. It offers 3x optical zoom, OIS, and 120x hybrid zoom. It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel primary camera with a large sensor for better low-light performance. This one has support for OIS for shake-less videos. Additionally, it includes an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 112-degree field of view. The Reno 10 Pro+ can shoot 4K videos too. Our initial impressions of the rear camera performance are good. The camera is able to deliver some detailed portraits. The daylight shots are also attractive. Since we are still testing the camera, we will be able to offer a more detailed answer about the performance part in our review.

There is no wireless charging support and IP rating, which might disappoint some users as they will be paying a high price for the Oppo Reno 10 Pro+. The good thing is the device will be receiving three years of major Android OS upgrades and four years of security patches, making it a future-proof device. It is running on Android 13 OS out of the box.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ initial impressionsIs it good enough?

Well, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ is priced at Rs 54,999, targeting some of the well-established flagship phones like Pixel 7. It will also be seen competing with the OnePlus 11, which is a full-fledged flagship phone with a few high-end features that Oppo misses out on. But, you get an industry-first 60-megapixel telephoto camera with Oppo Reno 10 Pro+, capable of delivering great portrait shots. Additionally, the overall performance is also seemingly smooth and the design is also luxurious. So, all-in-all, the new Oppo phone looks good in some areas, but we will be able to offer a more detailed outlook on the performance part in our review, which will be out soon.
