Such was the domination of Jaiswal and Jos Buttler, that RR amassed 68 runs in the first six overs of the game. Jaiswal took on Axar once again and brought up his fifth IPL half-century in just 25 balls. He then went on to hit Kuldeep Yadav for a massive six over long-off before falling at the hands of Mukesh Kumar in the next over.

Jaiswal scored 60 runs in 31 balls, smashing 11 boundaries and a solitary six. This knock took his tally to 125 runs in three matches in IPL 2023, taking him to fifth place in the running for the Orange Cap.

Following Jaiswal’s departure, RR skipper Sanju Samson failed to make a mark on the game and was dismissed for a duck. Then, Buttler went on to complete his half-century before young Riyan Parag lost his wicket cheaply.

Mukesh Kumar was brought back in the attack and caught and bowled the dangerous Buttler, who scored 79 runs off 51 balls. West Indian wicket-keeping batter Shimron Hetmyer then played a blinder, scoring 39 runs off 21 balls to propel RR to a total of 199 for 4.

DC will be looking to chase down the 200-run target and register their first win of the 2023 IPL season.
