The official teaser posted on Twitter reveals that the new Nothing phone will feature the same semi-transparent back panel design, but with a new light setup. It shows changes in the appearance of the LED strip and wireless charging coil. Both elements are now broken into multiple parts. This means that users could have more options to customize different lights, which is something that the company’s CEO Carl Pei also suggested. He asserted that the new device will have more customization options for the Glyph interface. The video doesn’t reveal anything else, but the teaser does suggest that the recently leaked design is accurate.

The leak also showed the same and suggested that the new Nothing Phone (2) is focused on having better ergonomics and aesthetics. It is said to come with rounded frames to make it easier to hold the phone. The reports also claim that the handset’s front and back could have a coating of a 2.5D curve.

Nothing has confirmed that the Phone (2) will sport a bigger 6.7-inch screen. Comparatively, the Nothing Phone (1) offers a 6.55-inch display. We do expect the company to offer support for wireless charging tech because the same was available on the first generation phone too. In one of the tweets, Nothing also revealed that the latest 5G phone will pack a bigger 4,700mAh battery under the hood.

It is no secret that the Nothing Phone (2) will be using Qualcomm’s top-notch Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which has powered several flagship phones in the recent past. It is expected to compete with phones like OnePlus 11R and Pixel 7a if the company prices the device between Rs 40,000 and Rs 45,000.

Nothing also revealed that its new Phone (2) smartphone will be eligible to receive three years of Android OS upgrades and four years of security patches, making it future proof. Though, Samsung is offering 4 years of Android OS upgrades with its latest Galaxy F54 smartphone and this one is priced under Rs 30,000 in India. Nothing has promised that the latest Nothing OS build will offer a faster experience and more features to users. We expect the device to ship with Android 13 OS out of the box because the company offers the latest operating system with its new device.
