By Auto TodayVolkswagen Passenger Cars India has launched new variants of the Virtus and Taigun as well as exclusive editions which are part of the GT Edge Limited Collection. The new models include the new Virtus GT Plus Manual, Taigun GT DSG and Taigun GT Plus Manual and the Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey Matte finish colours on both cars.
Commenting on the launch of the new models, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, “For over a decade, Indian customers have aspired to own the much sought after GT badge that has been a symbol of unparalleled performance and power, commanding respect. With its strong legacy of fun-to-drive, the GT badge was introduced on the Performance Line (1.5l TSI EVO engine) variants of the Taigun & Virtus. Today, we are taking a step further and democratizing the GT badge by introducing newer variants for customers to choose from.”
2023 Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun new variants
While the Virtus was only offered with the 7-speed DSG transmission on the 1.5 TSI EVO engine, Volkswagen has now added the 6-speed manual transmission to the Virtus 1.5. This is available on the GT Plus trim. Volkswagen has added two new variants to the Taigun. The new variants are the Taigun GT DSG (earlier DSG only offered with GT Plus) and the Taigun GT Plus manual (GT Plus manual earlier offered only with GT trim). This takes the total number of trim and variants of the Taigun to 9.
2023 Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun GT Edge Limited Collection
The GT Edge Limited Collection comes with a Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey Matte finish. These two exterior colours are offered on the Virtus GT DSG and GT Plus Manual, Taigun GT Plus DSG and GT Plus manual.

The new variants of the Taigun and Virtus are now available across Volkswagen’s showrooms and through the website. However, the GT Edge Limited Collection models will be made per order.
