“Almost tried to bowl like Test cricket. Tried to spin the ball,” Moeen said after the match. Moeen bowled in tandem with Mitchell Santner for CSK back in the match after Kyle Mayers handed LSG a dream start. Mayers hit a 22-ball 53 before the CSK spinners applied the break.

When asked about bowling with Santner, Moeen said”The combination was nice (with Santner). The partnership worked well. MS (Dhoni) knows what he’s doing. He knows when to bowl players.

“I do believe off-spinners can bowl to right-handers especially bowling to the big leg-side. I’m not going to bowl all the time with Jadeja there.”

Meanwhile, Santer, who took one wicket, admitted that it was challenging for bowlers to bowl in the powerplay overs. The left-arm spinner added that he tried to back Moeen by bowling tight in the middle over.

“Both powerplays looked challenging for the bowlers. We tried to tie it up in the middle. It was nice to see Moe getting wickets and I tried to tie it up at the other end. With the boundary dimensions, you want to get it to the big side bowling very wide. I’m used to that in New Zealand playing on one side of the block all the time,” said Santner.
