Meta employee loses job after 7 years

There is no denying the fact that 7 years is a long time to invest in a company. And when despite of that, you are handed the pink slip, the feeling can’t really be explained. However, this particular Meta employee chose to look at the bright side and says that she is ‘grateful for the time that she spent at the company’.

Her LinkedIn post reads, “Unfortunately, after 7 years at Meta, I received the news last week that I am also part of the lay off, soon I completed my statutory maternity leave. I am definitely saddened but I am grateful for the time I spent working with amazing team mates, hiring partners, XFN partners and candidates.

“I have grown professionally and personally in the past 7 years as I took on new challenges and experiences. I have learnt how to work on impactful projects and hired some of the niche roles. Thank you to my managers who continuously believed in me and for pushing me to dream big!

“I am excited to see what the future has for me. Connect with me if you have any opportunities or ideas on how I can contribute.”

A lot of people commented on the former Meta executive’s LinkedIn post, remembering how she helped them prepare for their interviews and thanking her for always being there for them.

Layoffs at Meta

The recent round of layoffs at Meta was carried out last month. The company had announced its decision to fire 10,000 employees in March. However back then, only 4,000 employees were handed the pink slip. The remaining 6,000 were told about their layoff in May.

A Wall Street Journal report recently said that as per an internal survey, majority of Meta employees are unhappy with Zuckerberg as only 26 per cent of employees are confident in his leadership.

According to the report, Meta conducted an internal survey according to which, only 26 per cent of respondents said that they are confident about the leadership. The report also added that the latest survey was conducted before Meta’s recent round of layoffs was carried out in May this year. In addition to this, 43 per cent of employees said that they felt ‘valued’ at the company.

The report also says that the employees’ morale has been hit by the mass layoffs carried out at the company.
