Rashford has been a force to reckon with this season and has already scored 28 goals. He looked in discomfort in the final stages of the Everton game and asked to be subbed off.

“Subsequent assessment of the injury suggested that Marcus will be unavailable for a few games, but is expected to be back for the season run-in,” United said in a statement.

United further appraised the forward’s injury was not long term and he will be back for the final weeks for Manchester United.

“The England international’s absence is a disappointment given his red-hot form this season… But there will also be relief about the prospect of his return for important games in the final weeks of the season,” the club further added.

This can be considered a huge blow for United, who are under pressure from Newcastle United for the third position in the Premier League points table. United however are having a great season after several years and are still alive in all competitions. They have already won the FA Cup and are in the hunt for Europa League and Carabao Cup. It is unlikely that United will be able to displace league leaders Arsenal, but are well placed in the top four race at the moment.
