Malaika was married to Arbaaz Khan for nearly 19 years and they got divorced in 2017. Their son Arhaan, who is pursuing higher studies abroad, is now 20.

Asked about the challenges that she might be facing while co-parenting and being a single mother, Malaika said, “I think co-parenting is very tough. Not always, two people are on the same page about a lot of things. Especially when you go your separate ways, there’s always something that doesn’t quite fit into the picture. So, co-parenting is always tough.”

Moreover, Malaika added, “I think, thankfully, both Arbaaz and me are better humans today. I think we are better people today. And, I am really proud of the fact that we can co-exist and be able to give our child all the love and attention that he needs and deserves. We are there for him every step of the way. Irrespective of the fact that his parents are not together, we are together as a unit when we need to be together and that’s what matters.”
