Lamborghini Urus S launched in India at Rs 4.18 crore


The tamer version of the Urus SUV has been launched in India, and features the same 666bhp engine as the Urus Performante.

The SUV is priced at Rs 4.18 crore (ex-showroom), which makes it quite a bit costlier than the outgoing Urus, and marginally less than the Urus Performante, which is priced at Rs 4.22 crore (ex-showroom). Unlike the Performante, the Urus S has been made for a more comfortable experience.

The Lamborghini Urus S adopts a mild tweak to the exterior, which includes a new front bumper with a matt black-painted steel skidplate. The bonnet finished in carbon fibre and comes with new air vents, while the SUV can be opted for with a carbon fiber roof. The rear now gets a new bumper while the matt black lower half features the new twin-pipe exhaust tips finished in brushed steel as standard. Lamborghini offers the SUV with 21-inch wheels as standard, or optional 22-inch wheels or even 23-inch ones, each with a customizable finish.

Powering the Urus as before is the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 which now has an increased power output of 666bhp and 850Nm of torque. This power is sent to all the wheels via an 8-speed transmission. This means that the Urus S can launch from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 305kmph. There are multiple drive modes available, each changing the behavior of the drivetrain and other mechanical aspects.

What makes the Urus S different from the Urus Performante is the use of air suspension like the older Urus. The Performante comes with a coil-spring suspension which is stiffer and hence provides better performance and stability for a sportier drive.
