it was no surprise when a bidding war started when Harry Brook’s name was announced at the IPL 2023 mini-auction in Kochi. SunRisers Hyderabad won the bidding battle and bought Brook for Rs 13.25 crore, one of the highest-paid players in the auction.

KKR vs SRH, IPL 2023 Updates

Harry Brook headed into IPL 2023 on the back of a stunning Test series in New Zealand where he scored 186, 89 and 54 in 4 innings as Ben Stokes had marked him for greatness in the future.

However, the England batter struggled to get going in the first 3 matches of IPL 2023 for SunRisers Hyderabad. He managed scores of 13, 3 and 13 falling to spin in two of those matches.

However, Brook proved his doubters wrong on Friday, April 14, hitting the first hundred of the season. It was also the 22-year-old’s first century in the T20 format of the game.

Brook carried his bat as he got to his hundred in the final over of the SRH innings. He got to his hundred in 55 balls, smashing 3 sixes and 12 boundaries.

Harry Brook got there in xx balls, showcasing he has multiple gears to his batting. After getting off to a flying start in the powerplay, Brook was happy to play second fiddle to his captain Aiden Markram, who took down the spinners of Kolkata after the powerplay.

Brook was the second fiddle in his 82-run partnership with Markram, who hit a 26-ball fifty.

Brook carried on and stitched a 72-run partnership with Abhishek Sharma, who took the KKR spinners to the cleaners with a 17-ball 32.

Brook continued his blitz against the pacers and announced his arrival in Kolkata.

Andre Russell was the pick of the KKR bowlers with 3 wickets but he was injured after 2.2 overs.
