There have been a lot of price leaks for 2023 iPhones, but the latest one comes from reliable Wall Street analyst Dan Ives, who also warned about the high price of the iPhone 14 series. Now, in an interview with CNBC, he claimed that Apple will increase the price of iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max by up to $200 (around Rs 16,490). Here are the details.

The analyst hasn’t revealed the exact price details, but claims that the Pro models will see a hike of around $200. This is about Rs 16,490 in India when converted. This suggests that Apple is looking to increase the price by a massive margin. The cited source says that the company didn’t raise the prices of the iPhone 14 Pro variants in the US, but this year’s models will be much more expensive in this market. Unfortunately, the other international markets that witnessed steep price hike on iPhone 14 Pro models will be experiencing a hike for the second time in 2023, as per the source.
To recall, the iPhone 14 Pro price in India was set at Rs 1,29,900 for the base model, and the same handset was announced in the US for $999 (around Rs 82,380) for the iPhone 14 Pro. So, if the company actually increases the price by $200, then the price would be $1,199 in the US. This is roughly Rs 98,850 in India when converted, but don’t expect Apple to launch the iPhone 15 Pro at the same price in India because there are GST, custom, and other charges that the company applies. The India price of the iPhone 14 Pro model was almost Rs 47,500 higher than the US market. Hence, the iPhone 15 Pro models will likely be pretty expensive.
Similarly, the iPhone 14 Pro Max was launched for $1,099, which is around Rs 90,626. So, with up to $200 hike, the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be $1,299 (roughly Rs 1,07,090). But, again the same won’t be the price in India. Last year, the iPhone 14 Pro Max was made available in India for Rs 1,39,900, which means that there was a price gap of Rs 32,800 between this market and US.
There are chances that Apple could decide to offer the new iPhone 15 Pro models in India at the same old prices. There is no information on the Indian prices yet. The prices of the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14 remained the same. Hence, several leaks have suggested that the iPhone 15 could get a price hike too. But, there is no clarity on this yet.
We are almost 2 months away from the launch of the iPhone 15 series because Apple usually unveils its new iPhones in September. The same is expected to happen this year too.
