By Ankita ChakravartiApple is set to launch the iPhone 15 series in September of this year. However, rumors about the smartphones have been circulating for months, not to mention the numerous renders that have given us a glimpse into the design of the upcoming iPhone 15. Recent renders have revealed that the top-of-the-line model in the upcoming series, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, will feature a thinner camera bump. In addition, the screen will have more space as the bezels are expected to be thinner than those on the previous generation iPhone 14 Pro Max.

As per the detailed CAD renders obtained by 9to5Mac upcoming, iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 15 Pro might feature a thinner rear camera bump compared to its predecessors. This could be possible because Apple is using a new space-saving periscope module that enables optical zoom. The iPhone 15 Pro is expected to have a considerably larger rear camera bump that is almost as thick as the phone itself, the render reveals.

Apple is also set to introduce the display with world’s thinnest bezels. The recently released CADs show that the front bezels of the iPhone 15 Pro Max are impressively slim. According to sources who leaked the information, the measurement of the bezels will be a mere 1.55mm, surpassing the current record holder, Xiaomi 13, which has bezels measuring 1.81mm.

If you’re thinking that Apple will change the design it’s been using since the iPhone 12, the new renders don’t really suggest that the boxy design will be replaced with something different in the iPhone 15 series. The renders show that the iPhone 15 Pro Max display features a flat volume strip that is even with the phone (and might work by swiping up and down) and an Action button that is shaped like a pill. This button will take the place of the Mute button, and you can change what it does in the settings.

While the design remains pretty much unchanged, the thing that could really excite you the most is the USB-C port. The CADs confirm that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models will feature the much-awaited USB Type C port. Notably, the physical appearance of the ports is only slightly different from Lightning, with both having similar, symmetrical, pill-shaped openings. However, it remains to be seen whether the USB C port will be compatible with all the USB cables.
