By India Today Auto DeskHyundai Motor India’s next big launch will be the Exter micro-SUV. The carmaker today revealed the safety features to be offered with the Hyundai Exter and we must add here that we are impressed.
Hyundai Exter Safety Features
The micro-SUV has five trims — EX, S, SX, SX(O) and SX(O) Connect. While six airbags (driver, passenger, curtain and side) are standard across all of them, 26 safety features are available with all the trims, but as an option with entry trims like E and S.
The 26 safety features include segment-first features like ESC (electronic stability control), VSM (vehicle stability management) and HAC (hill assist control), as well as three-point seatbelt and seatbelt reminder for all seats, keyless entry, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and ESS.
This is not all. There are more segment-first features like a dashcam with dual camera, TPMS (highline) and burglar alarm. Also available are features like a headlamp escort, auto headlamps, ISOFIX, rear defogger and rear parking camera.
Hyundai Exter Variants
As we informed our readers yesterday, the Exter has 15 variants in all, depending on trim-engine-transmission combinations.
Hyundai Exter Bookings
The Exter micro-SUV can be booked for a token amount of Rs 11,000 via Hyundai’s official dealerships as well as its Click To Buy online platform.
Hyundai Exter Engine and Transmission
The Hyundai Exter has a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine. It produces 83PS of maximum power and 113.8Nm of peak torque, and can be paired either with a 5-speed MT or 5-speed AMT. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Hyundai Aura use this engine as well. Also on offer is a CNG option with 5-speed MT.
Hyundai Exter Price and Launch
The Exter is expected to be launched in India in June. It might be priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
