How to view someone’s LinkedIn profile without letting the person know

But on LinkedIn, when you check out someone’s profile, it alerts the person. Now, that’s not a pleasant thing to happen to anyone, right? Imagine you are checking someone’s Instagram profile and the person gets to know about it. It is going to be so embarrassing. So, on LinkedIn, by default, it will alert you when someone views your profile. But did you know that there’s a way to change the setting?

There are private modes available on LinkedIn. When you view a profile in private mode, you will appear in that person’s Who’s Viewed Your Profile section as LinkedIn Member – This person is viewing profiles in private mode. No other information about you will be shared with the person whose profile you viewed. Now, when you browse in semi-private mode, your profile characteristics such as job title, company, school, and industry will be shown to the member you are viewing.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to view someone’s LinkedIn profile without letting the person know. Check it out.

–Click on the “Me” icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.

–Select the “Settings & Privacy” option from the dropdown.

–Click on the “Visibility” option on the left side.

–In the Visibility of your “profile & network” section, you will need to click on Change next to Profile viewing options.

–Select the mode you’d like to browse in. You have three optionsYour name and headline, Private profile characteristics (i.e. job title and industry), and Private mode.

–To hide all your details from the person you are stalking, simply click on Private mode. Notably, your changes will be saved automatically.

Now, if you have LinkedIn Premium subscription, you will be able to browse in private mode and still see the list of people who viewed your profile in the last 90 days. Of course, you won’t be able to view the names of private mode viewers on your own profile. This isn’t possible with a Basic or free account.
