So, what are the things you can do while working at your desk to stay fit? First up, you should position the screen of your laptop or computer at eye level. You can use a screen elevator to do so.

Another thing that Dr Nene suggested is to ensure that the feet rest on your floor. Your legs should be at 90 degrees. It helps maintain proper posture. The doctor also advised investing in an ergonomic chair, if possible.

Taking breaks, Dr Nene said, is really important. It not only helps with relaxation but ensures that you are not seated in the same position for a longer time. “Every 25-30 minutes, which is any way your attention span, you need to get up for 3 minutes and perform stretching,” he said.

Dr Nene also emphasised on the importance of staying hydrated and maintaining a nutritious diet.

  • Position laptop/computer screen at your eye level
  • Rest your feet on the floor while sitting
  • Take a break every 30 minutes to get up for 3 minutes
