The foldable phone is currently unveiled in just limited markets and that doesn’t include India. Although India gets the affordable Pixel phone that the tech giant unveiled in India, the Pixel 7a. But in this story let’s talk about the star of the show, the Pixel Fold. It comes at $1799.

Launched at Google I/O 2023 event, the design as well as the specifications of the Pixel Fold go in line with the rumours and leaks that have been circulating on the internet for a really long time. The Pixel Fold appears to be one of the sexiest foldable phones out there but the regret is it is not going to hit the Indian shores. The device offers a wider form factor, unlike the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series phones. What is even more interesting is that the cover screen is also quite large. This simply means that users will be able to read messages and check all of the notifications clearly without unfolding the Fold.

The rear panel design is definitely inspired by the Pixel 7 and the 7 Pro and now also the Pixel 7a. The design overall looks absolutely stunning and stylish. The Pixel Fold features a curved metal frame, which in turn should offer a fantastic handle feel and grip, and metallic hinge, which should offer a study build quality.

Pixel Fold specifications

Coming to the hardware specifications. Just like any other Pixel phone, the Fold also offers a fantastic set of specifications. The cover display of Pixel Foldl measures 5.79-inches with a slightly wider aspect ratio when compared to the competition, the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The foldable primary OLED display measures 7.69-inches with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

On the hardware front, the Pixel Fold is powered by the Tensor G2, the chip that also powers the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro. And even the Pixel 7a, which just launched in India and globally. The foldable phone comes in a single memory option12GB RAM with two storage options including – 256GB and 512GB. On the software front, the phone is likely to ship with Android 13 out-of-the-box.

In terms of camera specifications, the Pixel Fold borrows the triple camera setup from the Pixel 7 Pro. This simply means that the phone brings a triple camera setup with a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 10.8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and a 10.-megapixel telephoto zoom lens. The cover display includes – a 8.3-megapixel camera shooter – while on the inside the device packs an 8.3-megapixel selfie camera. Going in line with the rumours, the Pixel Fold is backed by a 4800mAh battery with support for fast charging via the USB Type-C port. It also comes with support for wireless charging.
