One such former Google employee shared her inspiring story on LinkedIn. She mentioned how she worked at the company for over 15 years and was among the 12,000 people who lost their jobs in January this year. However, Google will always have a special place in her heart, the Xoogler wrote.

Her LinkedIn post reads, “It’s been three months since the news of the layoffs shook Singapore and I was among the 12k Googlers impacted. As I reflect on my time at Google, these past 15 years have been nothing short of extraordinary. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have worked alongside amazing individuals who’ve truly inspired me. It’s been a remarkable journey, and the memories created at Google will always hold a special place in my heart.

She then added that even though she wishes to thank each and every person who contributed in her journey, the list would get too extensive. She added, “To my incredible colleagues, mentors, and friends, thank you. Your unwavering support through both challenging & rewarding times, your guidance, and the camaraderie we shared have made this journey truly remarkable. I am a better person because of each and every one of you.

Elaborating on her future plans, she announced that she is now a yoga instructor and is also pursuing other endeavours.

Concluding her post on a positive note, she wrote, “As I embark on this new chapter, I am reminded of Leo Tolstoy’s wisdom”The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” I am eager to learn how to navigate life outside of the routines I’ve grown accustomed to and focus on effective time management, embracing the transformative power of patience and time. Thank you, Google. See you when I see you.”

It certainly takes courage to pursue something entirely different after being comfortable in a stable role for 15 years. The woman’s journey proves that it is never too late to start something new and that it is possible to look at every situation in a positive light.
