By India Today Business DeskBoth gold and silver prices are retailing on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Monday, May 22, 2023.
Gold futures, maturing on June 5, 2023, stood at Rs 60,245 per 10 grams, after recording a marginal dip of Rs 134 or 0.22 percent. The previous close was recorded at Rs 60,379.
Similarly, silver futures, due on July 5, 2023, witnessed a downfall of Rs 568 or 0.83 percent and were retailing at Rs 72,652 per kg on the MCX against the previous close of Rs 73,321.

GOLD PRICE ON INTERNATIONAL MARKET
Gold prices edged up on Monday as drawn-out discussions around the U.S. debt ceiling and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s less-hawkish comments added to the safe-haven bullion’s appeal, news agency Reuters reported.
According to the latest metal report, spot gold was up 0.1% at $1,978.06 per ounce as of 0347 GMT, while U.S. gold futures eased 0.1% to $1,979.40.
Meanwhile, spot silver fell 0.2% to $23.77 per ounce.
