By India Today Business DeskPrecious metals have shown mixed trends in the Indian markets today. While gold is trading on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver rates have recorded a hike on Monday, July 3.

Gold futures, maturing on August 4, 2023, saw a marginal dip of Rs 96 or 0.16 per cent on the MCX and were trading at Rs 58,115 per 10 grams.

Meanwhile, silver futures maturing on September 5, 2023, recorded a jump of Rs 170 or 0.24 per cent, and were trading at Rs 70,200 per kg.

Notably, the prices of gold and silver stood at Rs 58,211 per 10 grams and Rs 70,030 per kg respectively when the market closed on June 30.

The gold and silver prices in India depend on several factors, including the value of the rupee against the dollar. Global demand also plays a key role in determining the trends observed in the rate of precious metals.

GOLD, SILVER RATES ON INTERNATIONAL MARKET

Gold prices were little changed on Monday as a stronger U.S. dollar weighed on bullion’s appeal, while markets awaited key economic data for further information on the Federal Reserve’s rate hike path ahead, news agency Reuters reported.

According to the latest metal report, spot gold was flat at $1,919.89 per ounce by 0537 GMT. U.S. gold futures fell 0.1% to $1,927.50.

Spot silver rose 0.5% to $22.87 per ounce, platinum was up 0.1% to $901.84 while palladium gained 0.9% to $1,237.97.
