From India, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone are expected to join the A-listers invited to this year’s Met Gala. While Alia Bhatt will mark her debut, Priyanka Chopra hinted at her outfit for the grand fashion event. It will be “right on the theme” but with a twist, which we have to wait and see.

As the diva is all about to bring her A-game to the fashion extravaganza, here take a look at Priyanka’s Met Gala style journey from 2017 to 2019.

This was Priyanka’s Met Gala debut in which she stole the show with her custom Ralph Lauren trend coat dress. While the 2017 event was all about Priyanka’s entry with Nick Jonas, her long extended train that enamoured the trench coat dress was quite a boundary-pushing style. She paired her outfit with a trendy top knot and black ankle boots. Dramatic metallic earrings enlivened the ensemble.

Priyanka has a penchant for creating the perfect amalgam of fashion and makeup. She matched the Heavenly BodiesFashion and the Catholic Imagination in 2018 by opting for a deep red velvet straight gown with a bejewelled hood. While her ensemble painted a bold picture of extravagant style, her makeup in almost celestial gold eyes represented the “more is more” rule. She paired her dazzling gold eyes with matte bold red lips.

Priyanka’s Mad Hatter-inspired attire was how the diva attuned to the theme of the Met Gala in 2019. CAMPNotes on Fashion was the theme and Priyanka was proof that her avant-garde hair and makeup looks were on point.

Dressed by Dior, the actress, who arrived with her husband Nick Jonas, wore a dramatic caged dress with a cascading rainbow feathered skirt and a cape.

As the outfit had an exaggerated appeal, Priyanka’s spectacular couture gown had tulle details with silver strass. It had features attached in layers that went from grey and blush pink to bold yellow, fuchsia and fiery red.

Her makeup was yet another vision to gaze at. Shimmery magenta eyes with dramatic white eyeliner, lots of mascara and highlighter and crystal beads made the look anything but natural. Her haywire hair in tight curls certainly materialised the theme well and her silver headgear elevated the whacky aspect of the ensemble.

Meanwhile, like every year, celebrities will dress up in accordance with the themeKarl LagerfeldA Line of Beauty on May 2 as well. However, this time, the theme is quite specific as it has been named in honour of fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld, who died in 2019.
