Two major upsets took place on Day 6 of the French Open
Starting with, World No.3 Jessica Pegula failed to advance to the Round 4 after losing to Belgium’s Elise Mertens in straight sets. Pegula lost 1-6, 3-6 to bow out.
In another match, No.7 seed Andrey Rublev faced a shock defeat at the hands of Lorenzo Sonego. Ruud won the first two sets before Sonego won the next three to claim the match.
Novak Djokovic had to fight hard against Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina as the first two sets of the match went into tie-breaks. But after he claimed those two sets, he looked dominating in rhe third
In the last match of the day, World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz defeated Denis Shapovalov 6-1, 6-4, 6-2.
