By India Today Sports DeskRuturaj Gaikwad opened up on his partnerships with both Faf du Plessis and Devon Conway and said the current CSK batter has great batsmanship when it comes to finding gaps and rotating strike.

Ruturaj has enjoyed a great time at the top of the order for CSK and had two great partners alongside him during his time at the franchise. Alongside du Plessis, the Indian batter forged a great connection and they were one of the reasons behind CSK’s success in IPL 2021.

The South African moved to RCB during the IPL 2022 auction and Ruturaj has since then opened alongside Conway. The duo quickly formed a great bond and have already had nine 50-plus partnerships during their time as openers, with their latest one coming in the win over GT in the IPL 2023 Qualifier 1.

Speaking after the win over GT, as quoted by Cricinfo, Ruturaj talked about the Chennai track and said it has been different in the last few games and he had to adapt his batting.

“The last 3-4 games in Chennai have been different. They’ve gotten slightly slower, slightly sticky. So I had to adapt my batsmanship. This was one of my days where I was going well,” said Ruturaj.

Ruturaj went on to talk about his partnerships with Du Plessis and Conway and hailed them as great international players. The Indian batter said that Du Plessis is someone who is aggressive from ball one while Conway shows great batsmanship by finding gaps and rotating the strike.

Ruturaj said that the New Zealand batter has been a great support for him in tough conditions.

Both are obviously great international players. That helps me personally. Faf is someone who is aggressive from ball one while Devon has great batsmanship with gaps and rotating strike. He has been a great support especially in tough conditions,” said Ruturaj.

For his knock of 60, Ruturaj was adjudged as the Player Of the Match in the win over GT.
