Elon Musk’s sister says people assume her brother is paying

Musk’s sister, who is the founder of a streaming service and production company called Passionflix, told Daily Mail that she was asked to overpay for a location.

“The location was going to cost $5,000 [ã4,000] a day. But when they heard my name and assumed we were rich, they decided to charge us $25,000 [ã20,000],” she told the Daily Mail and added, that this is not exactly fair.

She further said, “Everyone assumes my eldest brother pays for everything, but he does not.”

When asked if Elon Musk helps her out in the form of offering business advice or with money, Tosca said that it is a ‘double-edged sword’ for her to talk about it.

“Well, it’s a double-edged sword for me to say whether my brother has helped in any way. If I say no, then people will say he does not support me at all and if I say yes, they’ll think he paid for everything. But I hope he watches the films. They are definitely an education service for men in how to behave with women,” she said.

Elon Musk and Tesla

It is no secret that much of Musk’s personal fortune is tied to Tesla stocks. The entrepreneur was one of the early investors of the company and eventually went on to hold the largest shares in the automobile company. The electric car brand was founded as Tesla Motors in July 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. In 2004, Musk became the largest shareholder of the company by investing a gigantic amount of USD 6.5 million. He then assumed his role as the CEO and product architect of the company in 2008.

Musk had sold large chunks of his Tesla shares in 2022, at first, to buy Twitter, and then perhaps to cope with the losses of his brand-new acquisition. Elon Musk bought Twitter in a deal valued at USD 44 billion in October 2022.
