When Elon Musk was asked about whether he regrets buying Twitter, the CEO said the “pain level has been extremely high, this hasn’t been some kind of party.” “It’s not been boring. It’s been quite a rollercoaster. It has been really quite a stressful situation over the last several months”, he added. But, the billionaire also backed his buying decision by saying that he still feels taking over Twitter was the right thing to do.

For those who are unaware, Musk first managed to buy a stake in Twitter at the start of 2022, and he later proposed an offer to buy it. In one of the events, when he tried to back out from the deal, he was sued by the social media company. To back his takeover, he told the cited source that everything is “reasonably well” at Twitter and that people are using the platform more than ever. He also claimed that “the site (also) works” greatly. Though, he has to give in extra time and effort to the company, which has been vocal about a lot of times.

he told the cited source that the workload is so high that he “sometimes sleeps in the office and that he has a place on a “couch” in a library “that nobody goes to.” Elon Musk also revealed that he should avoid posting tweets at night because those are pretty controversial and has created big issues. “Have I shot myself in the foot with tweets multiple times? Yes. I think I should not tweet after 3:00AM,” he said.

Elon Musk also talked about the hard times when he was dealing with the layoff process in the past few months. He said that it was not easy to fire 80 percent workforce of Twitter. The headcount of the social media company has been reduced to about 1,500 from 8,000. He also admitted he did not get the opportunity to talk to all the impacted Twitter employees in person and so, people were informed through emails. “It’s not possible to talk with that many people face to face,” he said.

Interestingly, while backing up his buying decision and even talking about his struggle to handle the company, Musk also asserted that he would sell Twitter to someone if he gets a right person for it.
