Dell launches 11 new Latitude and Precision laptops with improved security features for business users

While the new laptops are tweaked to help ease hybrid work models and regular customers can buy them to improve productivity, these are tweaked to help IT teams. The notebooks feature 13th-Gen Intel processors, while some laptops also include Intel VPro technology to help businesses manage the PCs more efficiently and securely.

Alongside the new Latitude and Precision laptops, Dell has also introduced a high-end OptiPlex 7410 AIO (all-in-one) Desktop and Ultrasharp monitors. Dell launched its latest laptops and desktops days after HP launched new Pavillion laptops to ease customers’ hybrid work.

Dell Latitude 2023 series

The new Dell Latitude lineup includes seven laptops

-Dell Latitude 9440 (Rs 1,94,900 onwards)
-Dell Latitude 7440 (Rs 1,24,000 onwards)
-Dell Latitude 7640 (Rs 1,15,000 onwards)
-Dell Latitude 5440 (Rs 87,000 onwards)
-Dell Latitude 3540 (Rs 60,000 onwards)
-Dell Latitude 3340 (Rs 65,000 onwards)
-Dell Latitude 3440 (Rs 59,000 onwards)

As the pricing suggests, the Latitude 9440 is the most premium business notebook in the new lineup. It features a 14-inch display, and there are 360-degree hinges to let users use the laptop as a tablet. The display with “InfinityEdge” bezels offers QHD+ resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio for an edge-to-edge viewing experience.

Dell has reduced the backlit keyboard power usage by up to 75 per cent to increase the laptop’s battery life by up to three hours. The company is also using a new mini-LED backlit keyboard technology. The laptop’s primary focus is portability and increased security with Intel VPro tech, which the company believes is optimal for business customers.

On the other hand, Dell’s new Latitude 7000 series offers different sizes, form factors, and functions. Dell notes the Latitude 7340 and 7440 Ultralights (UL) are the “world’s smallest and lightest 13.3-inch and 14-inch premium commercial laptops.” The model with a 13-inch display weighs under 1 kg, while the 14-inch weighs roughly 1.2 kg. Both devices are available in 2-in-1 configurations and include optional Wi-Fi 6E and 5G support for improved connectivity. There’s also a 5-megapixel camera for a better visual experience.

Dell Precision 2023 series

Dell’s Precision 2023 portfolio is relatively bulkier compared to the Latitude series, but the new laptops are heavy on specifications.

The series includes three laptops:
-Dell Precision 7780 (Rs 1,49,000 onwards)
-Dell Precision 5680 (Rs 1,45,000 onwards)
-Dell Precision 3480 (Rs 76,000 onwards)

All three laptops vary in terms of screen sizes, and the Precision 7780 comes with a 17-inch display. The Precision 3480 features a 14-inch display and the Precision 5680 has a 16-inch display.

Dell states the new Precision 5680 is “ideal” for users who deal with analysing heavy data. The laptop can be configured with Intel Core i9 (45W) processors and up to 64GB of DDR5 memory with the NVIDIA RTX 5000 Ada Generation mobile GPU.

The company also heavily focuses on its display. The Precision 5680 has the “world’s smallest footprint for a 16-inch workstation.” The display offers a 16:10 aspect ratio, three-sided InfinityEdge bezels, a haptic trackpad, four grade-A audio speakers, up to UHD+ PremierColor display resolution, and an FHD IR camera with proximity and ambient light sensor. It also has an HDMI port, a full-size SD card slot, and an optional smart card reader, delivering unrivalled power and performance.
