By India Today Sports DeskManchester United secured an amazing 3-1 comeback win in the FA Cup fifth round over West Ham United to progress into the quarterfinals of the competition.

Tottenham Hotspur were left to rue their luck as Sheffield United dumped them out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win at Bramall Lane.

United came into the contest on the back of their Carabao Cup final win over Newcastle United on Sunday as Erik ten Hag made a few changes to his side, with Casemiro, Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez being on the bench.

The Red Devils started the brighter of the two sides with Marcel Sabitzer and Alejandro Garnacho forcing Areola to make early saves. Michael Antonio had a big chance in the 23rd minute as he was one on one with David de Gea but the Spaniard made a top save. West Ham slowly grew into the game and made some great moves but it was 0-0 at half-time.

The second half started with United bringing on Casemiro into the side instead of Scott McTominay and both teams had good chances to break the deadlock.

However, it was the Hammers who took the lead in the 54th minute as United had switched off for a moment thinking they had got a throw-in. Said Benrahma slotted the ball past De Gea as United looked like they were hungover from their Carabao Cup win.

The Red Devils were shaken up after the goal and started to attack more. They thought they got the equalizer when a Bruno Fernandes free-kick made its way to Casemiro, who put the header into the net. But VAR intervened and ruled it out for offside.

United’s persistance was finally rewarded in the 77th minute as Nayef Aguerd put the ball past his own net from a corner. Garnacho, who had been lively in the game, then got the winner in the 90th minute with a curling effort.

Fred then put the finishing touches on the win after Wout Weghorst forced the West Ham defence to make an error. The Brazilian midfielder slotted it home to ensure Ten Hag’s men made it to the next stage.

Tottenham Hotspur were left to rue some big chances in the first half as Sheffield United dumped them out of the competition with a 79th minute strike. IIiman Ndiaye scored a brilliant solo goal to break Spurs hearts. Harry Kane, who started from the bench, had a glorious chance in the dying moments of the game but missed it.
