Whether it is a pizza, sandwich, chicken fries or potato balls, a bit of mozzarella cheese can elevate the gastronomical experience by multifolds. PSThat’s not us getting cheesy for mozzarella but just stating a cheesilicious fact!

Just to let you know, it is not necessary to buy packaged variants of cheese. You can, in fact, prepare several kinds of cheese from scratch at home. Mozzarella, one of the most commonly used variant in Indian kitchens, can be made at home using ONLY 3 ingredients. You read that right.

You will need milk, vinegar and salt. That’s all! The below-mentioned recipe is shared by Chef Pradeep Panwar of The Charcuterie Co.

Ingredients required:

3 litre milk

1 cup vinegar

25gm salt

Method:

Boil the milk and keep it aside.

When the milk is lukewarm, add vinegar to it and keep it aside for 30 minutes.

The next step is to check the milk texture and if the water is separated.

Strain it and keep the water aside and the soft cheese part separately.

Boil the whey (water) again separately with salt.

Softly stretch the cheese 4-5 times and place it on a strainer.

Dip the strainer with cheese on it in the warm salted whey water 4-5 times.

Now, make small round balls of it and keep it in the chiller.

Enjoy this fresh mozzarella for salad, canapes, pizza, etc.
