Bengaluru tech CEO arrested, allegedly for cheating app users with fake job offers

By India Today TechBenguluru-based IndianMoney Ffreedom app CEO CS Sudheer has been arrested, allegedly for fraud and fake job promises. As reported by Moneycontrol, Sudheer has been sent to judicial custody after 22 victims filed complaints against the company executives. The report highlights that the manager, HR, and 22 others at IndianMoney Ffreedom have also been named in the complaint.

According to the complainants, the Ffreedom app offered part-time jobs to aspirants once they subscribed to its services for Rs 2,999. Aspirants were reportedly offered Rs 15,000 per month for the part-time role. However, the company allegedly failed to keep promises, which irked aspirants. The first complaint from one Nayana M P, a Srirampura resident, was reportedly registered against the CEO on April 4, followed by another case on April 11.

Sudheer received bail in one of the cases but was kept in custody after another case was registered against him.

Sudheer’s LinkedIn page suggests he started IndianMoney in 2008 to help users gain “financial education.” According to IndinaMoney’s LinkedIn page, the company has over 1,500 workers. On the other hand, the Ffreedom app was launched in 2020.

It is available to download for free on Google Play and Apple App Store. The Google Play listing notes that Ffreedom app has over one crore downloads. Based on 58 thousand ratings, the Ffreedom app has 4.7 stars out of five.
