What data does Google collect on Bard?

According to the details revealed by the company, it collects your Bard conversations, related product usage information, the general area that you are in, and your feedback.

Why is Google saving your Bard data?

Google has explained its privacy policy that it uses this data “to provide, improve, and develop Google products and services and machine-learning technologies, including Google’s enterprise products such as Google Cloud.”

“To help with quality and improve our products, human reviewers read, annotate, and process your Bard conversations. We take steps to protect your privacy as part of this process. This includes disconnecting your conversations with Bard from your Google Account before reviewers see or annotate them. Please do not include information that can be used to identify you or others in your Bard conversations,” the brand said.

How to prevent Google from saving your conversations on Bard?

Google gives you the option to manage your data in Bard. People can always turn off their Bard activity and can delete your Bard activity from the registered account. For this, one just needs to go to “myactivity.google.com/product/bard”

People can also choose to turn off auto-delete or change the auto-delete option to 3 or 36 months if they don’t want to manually remove data from their Google account.

Note: Google says even if you turn off Bard activity, your conversations will be saved with your account for a “short period of time to allow (the company) to provide the service and process any feedback.”
