Ather Energy has launched a new variant of the Ather 450X which comes with a more attractive price. However, it loses out on vital features in the base variant.
By Auto TodayAther has launched a new variant of the Ather 450X which is now priced at Rs 98,079 ex-showroom, Delhi. However, to get to this price, the company has stripped the scooter of certain features, some of which are vital. But if the customer wishes, he or she can opt for the Pro Pack which in turn raises the price of the scooter by Rs 30,000.
Ather 450XBase variant explained
All variants of the 450X come with a 6.4kW motor and the max torque and top speed remain identical. Hence, you get 26Nm of torque and a top speed of 90kmph. The base variant, though, does not get ride modes, park assist, hill hold assist, Bluetooth connectivity etc. It also is not expected OTA updates too as there is no sim card connected. Considering this, the instrument panel has also been revised and is now a more basic thing.
Ather 450XBase variant charging times
The biggest drawback of this variant is the fact that it does not come with fast charging capabilities and specifications show that it takes 15 hours and 20 minutes to recharge. This is a significant jump from the 5 hours 40 minutes charging time that is available with the Pro Pack. The zero to 80 percent charging time too is long at 12 hours and 15 minutes. The base variant cannot be charged on the company’s fast-charging network.

While the battery warranty on the base variant is 30,000km or 3 years, the one with the Pro Pack gets a warranty of 5 years and 60,000km. The vehicle warranty remains identical at 3 years or 30,000km.
