Amazon Echo Pop with semi-sphere design, pastel colour options launched in India, price set under Rs 5000

Amazon had introduced the hockey puck design, followed by a spherical design and now the Echo Pop comes in a semi-sphere form factor. Apart from having an interesting design, the Echo Pop also comes with a bunch of interesting features, the device can track cricket scores, control smart lights and plugs, set alarms, reminders etc. Driving the show is the new Amazon’s AZ2 Neural Edge processor, which enables faster responses for requests to Alexa.

Echo Pop has been launched at Rs 4999 and it is available for purchase on the official website of Amazon. The device is available in Green, Purple, Black and White colour options. Customers can also check out the new smart speaker at online and offline stores such as Croma, Reliance Digital, Poorvika, and Amazon devices kiosks across India.

The Echo Pop speaker has a front-facing speaker that points towards you, making it easier to hear the music and vocals clearly.You can use Alexa to ask the speaker to play songs from different music apps like Amazon Prime Music, Hungama, Spotify, JioSaavn, Apple Music, and others (some apps may require a subscription). If you connect your phone to the Echo Pop using Bluetooth, you can also listen to your favorite music from your phone.

Apart from playing songs, you can control many smart home devices using your voice. These devices include smart lights and other electrical appliances from brands like Wipro, Syska, Xiaomi, and more. Just say “Alexa, dim the lights in the living room” or “Alexa, switch on the AC.” You can also use smart plugs (sold separately) to control non-smart appliances and create a pleasant environment.

Echo Pop is a great device for kids to learn and have fun without using screens. Interacting with Alexa can help kids develop curiosity and communication skills. Parents can ask Alexa to play bedtime stories, nursery rhymes, games, quizzes, fun facts, English lessons, and access many other educational features. Just say “Alexa, why is the sky blue?” or “Alexa, open 1-2-3 Math” to get started.

You can also create routines to automate your daily tasks and stay organized. You can set alarms, get weather updates, add items to your shopping list, pay bills, and more. Just say “Alexa, pay the electricity bill,” “Alexa, what’s today’s cricket score?” or “Alexa, remind me to water the plants.”

You have control over your privacy and security settings with Echo devices. They are designed to prioritize customer privacy and have various privacy controls. Echo devices have a microphone on/off button, and you can also view and delete voice recordings.
