AGUST D’S AMYDGALA IS OUT

While Haegeum, the title track from D-Day, is about seeking liberation/freedom from anything and everything that is considered a taboo or is banned, Amygdala is about internal struggle. Suga uses chapters from his life, the real story, to pen a song as heartbreaking and cathartic as this one. The music video shows Suga hurt and hopelessly lying on a sofa as he waits for the amygdala to rescue/save him. There is a trigger warning and viewer discretion pop-up that appears before the music video begins.

The amygdala is the nerve in the brain responsible for triggering emotions of fear and anger. The idol has not held himself back from showing the decisions he made during that phase in his life, including the time when he indulged in self-hurt.

Amygdala stirs several emotions in listeners and is a true tear-jerker. Suga mentioned that D-Day marks the end of his trilogy with Agust D. The scar that appeared fresh in his first mixtape (2016) has now healed, marking the end of his moniker, which was created for Suga to show his true self.
