Chelsea opened the scoring for the hosts in the 13th minute after latching onto a Mykhaylo Mudryk pass, which took a big deflection and beat Robert Sanchez in goal. However, former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck came on as a substitute for the injured striker Evan Ferguson and equalized in the 42nd minute, heading in from Pascal Gross’ cross from the right flank.

Then, in the 69th minute, Julio Enciso launched a pile-driver from 30 yards out to give the visitors a much-deserved lead. Brighton hammered Chelsea 4-1 in their home leg and did the double over them with this win at Stamford Bridge.

Bournemouth shock Tottenham

Bournemouth inflicted a big blow to Tottenham’s top-four hopes after beating them 3-2 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Hueng-Min Son opened the scoring for Tottenham, but Matias Vina equalized in the 38th minute before former Chelsea and Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke put the visitors in front just seven minute into the second half.

Dutch winger Arnaut Danjuma leveled proceedings in the 88th minute but a stoppage time strike from Dango Ouattara secured the win for the Cherries.

Villa, Wolves, Palace and Fulham win

In other results, Aston Villa outclassed Newcastle United 3-0 to dent their hopes of securing a UEFA Champions League spot. Eberechi Eze netted a brace as Crystal Palace downed Southampton 2-0. Former Chelsea star Diego Costa scored his first goal for Wolves as to beat Brentford 2-0, while Fulham overcame Everton 3-1 to move up to tenth in the Premier League table.
