By Daphne ClaranceAfter a video of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama went viral a few days back, rapper-singer Cardi B tweeted a controversial post. In her tweet, the rapper spoke about how the world is full of predators and parents must talk to their kids about “boundaries” and “what they shouldn’t allow people to do to them.”

“This world is full of predators. They prey on the innocent. The ones who are most unknowing, our children. Predators could be our neighbors, our school teachers, even people wit money ,power & our churches. Constantly talk with your kids about boundaries and what they shouldn’t allow people to do to them,” her tweet read.

The post, shared on April 10, has amassed over 7.6 million likes and more than 53k likes.

“Model boundaries. Don’t force children to hug relatives. Allow them to say “no” or to appear rude if they don’t want to interact. Let them be autonomous rather than being conditioned people pleasers concerned with making others comfortable,” a person named Dr Nicole LePera wrote.

Giving the rapper a thumbs up, another one wrote, “Finally someone said it.”

“Facts I’m in Queens NY and it’s too many people around. I tell my son if anybody drive up to you and say, ‘Your daddy or mommy told me to pick you up’ or they gonna buy them toys do not get in that car. Hell for help, call my phone, go into a local store. It’s so much we gotta teach them,” wrote a person named John King.

Echoing similar thoughts, a person shared a book recommendation for parents to help kids understand the meaning of touch.

Seeing the response she got to her tweet, Cardi B shared another post to thank people.

“Wow all this support I’m getting at the same time is beautiful. It was deep in my heart to talk about this cause me & my friend was talkin last night & then the dalai lama thing happen this morning â€æThank you everyone..I just have to realize the people attacking me are just projecting,” she wrote.

The Dalai Lama found himself at the centre of controversy after a video went viral showing the Tibetan spiritual leader asking a minor boy to “suck my tongue”. In a statement, the Dalai Lama’s team issued an apology, stating that he “often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras.”

A tweet from Dalai Lama’s official Twitter handle on Monday (April 10) said, “A video has been circulating that shows a recent meeting when a young boy asked His Holiness the Dalai Lama if he could give him a hug. His Holiness wishes to apologize to the boy and his family as well as his many friends across the world, for the hurt his words may have caused.”
