The Maruti Suzuki Fronx sub-4 metre compact SUV will be sold from the carmaker’s Nexa retail channel, which also offers the Maruti Suzuki Baleno premium hatchback. Fronx vs BalenoEngine & Transmission
The Fronx has two engine options — 1.2-litre Dual-Jet Dual-VVT petrol (89.7PS/113Nm) and 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet petrol (100PS/147.6Nm). The 1.2-litre unit can be paired either with a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT, while the 1.0-litre unit can be clubbed with a 5-speed MT or a 6-speed AT.
On the other hand, the Baleno has a 1.2-litre Dual-Jet Dual-VVT petrol engine (89.7PS/113Nm) with 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT options. However, the premium hatchback has a CNG option for the 1.2-litre petrol unit (77.4PS/98.5Nm) with a 5-speed MT.
