Ram Charan's wife Upasana nails maternity style in saree made from recycled scraps for Oscars 2023

By Daphne ClaranceRam Charan’s wife Upasana Konidela made her Oscars debut on Sunday night (March 11) and glammed up in a saree. The mom-to-be looked stunning in a beige saree which was paired with unique floral jewellery as she posed with her husband on the champagne-coloured carpet.

While Ram Charan wore a black bandhgala which had a military nuance and chakra buttons, Upasana, too, made heads turn with her saree choice that abides by her principals of sustainable fashion.

On Instagram, she shared that the stunning silk drape with an intricate border was a bespoke couture by Hyderabad-based designer Jayanti Reddy and was made of recycled scraps.

“Hyderabad based designer Jayanti Reddy Label created a silk saree made using hand woven silk, of spun fabric, created from recycled scraps keeping in tune with my belief of sustainable fashion,” Upasana wrote.

Flaunting her unique jewellery in the pictures, Upasana, who is going to welcome her first child with Ram Charan, wrote that her statement neckpiece called Lilium is by Bina Goenka.

“The intricately crafted statement Lilium neck piece, was in the making from the last four years by avant-garde Mumbai-based jewellery designer, Bina Goenka,” she highlighted.

Sharing more about the jewellery, Upsana detailed its craftsmanship. She wrote that the necklace was made with natural pearls and approximately 400 carats of high-quality rubies “that cannot be recreated”.

“It was manoeuvred with impeccable craftsmanship, made using the highest quality of natural gemstones of pearls and approximately 400 carats of high-quality rubies that cannot be recreated,” an excerpt of the caption read.

Showing pride over her Oscars look, the mom-to-be acknowledged the hardwork of the team that put together her ensemble.

“I truly appreciate the hard work, dedication,passion and labour of love that have gone into creating these beautiful pieces for me. It’s the intricate attention to detail that sets this look apart from the rest,” she ended her note.

Upasana certainly nailed her maternity style for the red carpet event in the traditional weave.

Meanwhile, Ram Charan and Jr NTR wore outfits proclaiming the ethnic vibe of India. The film RRR made a historic moment by winning an Oscar for the song Naatu Naatu in the Best Original Song category.
