Honda Shine 100 launched in India, price starts at Rs 64,900

By India Today Auto DeskHonda Motorcycle and Scooter India today launched its entry-level 100cc motorcycle, the Honda Shine 100, at an introductory starting price of Rs 64,900 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The Honda Shine 100 enters the market at a time when the entry-level two-wheeler segment is facing headwinds owing to a rise in inflation, relatively higher ownership costs and subdued demand, particularly in rural areas.

Honda Shine 100 Bookings

The Honda Shine 100 bookings are open now. While the production of the motorcycle will start in April, it will be available at dealerships from May 23 onwards.

Honda Shine 100 Price & Rivals

The 100cc segment currently holds a share of nearly 28% in the two-wheeler market. The Honda Shine 100 will rival the Hero HF Deluxe, Hero Splendor+ and Bajaj Platina 100. The starting price for the Hero HF Deluxe is Rs 61,232 (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the Hero Splendor+ is Rs 72,420 (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and the Bajaj Platina 100 is Rs 67,475 (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Honda Shine 100 Mileage

The Honda Shine 100 has been developed with as many as 12 patent applications. The motorcycle gets an all-new 100cc OBD2 compliant PGM-FI engine. The Honda Shine 100 mileage is claimed to be class-leading. The motorcycle is based on an all-new lightweight diamond frame with telescopic front suspension and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The motorcycle comes with alloy wheels and a combi-brake system with equalizer.

Honda Shine 100 Dimensions

The Honda Shine 100 has a 1,245mm long wheelbase and 168mm ground clearance. While the seat height is 786mm, the seat itself is 677mm long. Also, the turning radius is merely 1.9 metres.

For a 100cc motorcycle, the Honda Shine 100 has optimum features, including all-black alloy, aluminium grab rail, sleek muffler and analogue instrument cluster.

Honda Shine 100 Warranty

Honda is offering a six-year warranty package (three years standard + three years optional extended) on the new Shine 100.

Honda Shine 100 Colours

The Honda Shine 100 is being offered in five colour options — Black with Red Stripes, Black with Blue Stripes, Black with Green Stripes, Black with Gold Stripes and Black with Grey Stripes.
